QuickCPU is intended for adjusting and monitoring CPU performance to meet different types of demands. Thus, by controlling such factors as system state, availability, CPU state and heat data, this utility helps you get the most out of your machine while preserving the integrity of the hardware. Luckily, it is compatible with modern technologies like Core parking, Frequency Scaling, Turbo Boost, C-States and Speed Shift.
Although this program is not difficulty to use, it is a shame that it comes with no help documentation other than that you can obtain from the developer’s page. Its interface is neatly structured and easy to navigate. It has a +dashboard-like main window in which you can consult real-time data that includes power usage, CPU temperature, CPU performance and CPU speed. Luckily, there are not only figures but also performance graphs for each core.
From the main screen, you can also adjust the levels for core parking, turbo boost and frequency scaling. This way, it becomes quite easy to adjust power consumption to your real needs by reducing the number of active cores (parking) and adjusting CPU frequency at a given time. Likewise, it can boost your machine’s performance by enabling turbo boost. Moreover, you can pick one of the power plans available without needing to open an additional window.
There are other windows you can open for more specific tasks. For instance, you can view a log of history data, manage power plans and monitor memory usage (with the possibility to clean it). Similarly, it is allowed to monitor CPU clock data as well as modify advanced CPU settings. Good news is that any change you make is immediately enabled without the need to restart your computer.
All in all, there is no doubt that QuickCPU is an excellent companion if you require finetuning CPU resources to accommodate different usage scenarios. In this respect, one of the user groups that will find this product most convenient is gamers. However, you should be cautious if you do not know well what you are doing because you may cause permanent damage to your hardware. Finally, I am sure you will be glad to know the program is free.
